Looking across six acres of lush green rows of strawberries and black cap raspberries that stretch north from East Beacon Drive off River Road, Basilio Sandoval talks with pride, satisfaction and more than a little wonder.
During business hours on weekdays, Sandoval works as a drug and alcohol counselor at Centro Latinoamericano. In the early mornings, evenings and on weekends, he’s a one-eighth owner of the Small Farmers Project, a limited liability company made up of eight Eugene-area Hispanic families that leases the East Beacon Drive property
