Immigration

Centro Latino Americano staff, volunteers and board members stand with immigrants of all backgrounds. The Dreamers in our community have been in our hearts in minds since President Trump rescinded the Differed Action for Childhood Arrivals Program on Tuesday September 5, 2017. In response, Centro Latino Americano is collaborating with the Alianza Latinx to raise funds to support the last DACA recipients who are eligible to renew their 2-year status before October 5, 2017. Our estimate is that about 120 DACA recipients are up for renewal in Lane County and we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise $60,000 to cover 100% of the cost of DACA renewal applications. The fee for processing one application is $497.00. Eligible renewals will grant the last DACA recipients an additional two years of protection.  That’s two more years to attend school, grow a business, build a life and plan for the future. Any money raised in excess of $60,000 will go towards providing scholarships to low-income immigrants who needs support paying other legal fees.
We invite YOU to consider supporting DACA recipients by contributing to the Here to Stay Fund started by Centro Latino Americano. Funds raised will go towards providing scholarships to DACA renewals who attend an upcoming free legal clinic on Saturday September 23, 2017. You can support this effort by mailing a check to Centro Latino Americano with Here to Stay in the memo line, or by contributing using the PayPal Button on the right-hand side of our web page. Our deadline to raise $60,000 is Friday September 22, 2017 by 5:00pm. Please consider helping out! For more information on the upcoming legal clinic, see the flier here.
Your contributions matter and support keeping immigrant families safe, stable and united.
