Centro’s pantry gets an upgrade

With help from the Oregon Food Bank, Centro received support to expand the agency’s capacity to meet the needs of Latinx families in Eugene and Springfield. Centro was awarded a $1,876 grant to purchase new shelving, supplies and a fridge.

Centro’s new pantry space.

This contribution helped staff to make a significant upgrade to the pantry space, allowing us to offer more variety and food to families in need. Since 2016, we have seen an increase in food insecurity among Latinx families in our area and had been searching for support to make this happen. In addition to Oregon Food Bank’s support, we also received help from Nathan Keffer at Food For Lane County as well as Centro’s social services team who invested a bit of sweat equity!
